Louvre Abu Dhabi Board Game Adventure: Dates, Tickets & Children’s Museum Guide 2026

If you have kids in Abu Dhabi this year, the Children’s Museum at Louvre Abu Dhabi is actually worth planning around. A Board Game Adventure is open now: chess, Mancala, Ludo and Carrom sitting next to 24 objects, some of them among the earliest board games we have from Egypt and Mesopotamia. Official run is 18 July 2026 – 25 April 2027. It’s built for ages 4–12. Adults go in too, and under-18s still enter the museum free.

You don’t buy a second ticket for this. It’s folded into Louvre general admission.

What A Board Game Adventure is

The show lives in the Children’s Museum. DCT and Louvre Abu Dhabi treat play as part of being human: you look at real objects, then you sit down and play.

The National and Gulf News (17 July 2026) put the count at 24 objects, plus loans, covering about 5,000 years of play. Immersive rooms. Anyone can walk in; the design target is still 4–12.

How long, and who it is for

Give it 2–3 hours if you want galleries plus the Children’s Museum. Families with 4–12-year-olds should do A Board Game Adventure first, then the dome, then a gallery loop if anyone still has legs.

Adults without kids can still go in. It isn’t a drop-off. Children stay with the adult they arrived with.

Pair it with Saadiyat, not a second paid kids ticket
